Wide range of lamp bases, designs and uses.
Low-cost compact fluorescent lamps for energy-saving lighting of workplaces, restaurants or offices.
Since 1980, when PHILIPS developed the first compact fluorescent lamp, a lot has changed: Size and weight of the lamps decreased, while luminous flux and colour rendering steadily increased. Today, in our online shop, we can offer you powerful and efficient compact fluorescent lamps that deliver short heat-up times and high luminous flux without flickering. Our range includes compact fluorescent lamps from Tungsram (GE Lighting), RADIUM, SYLVANIA, OSRAM, PHILIPS and other manufacturers.
Compact fluorescent lamps produce UV radiation due to the collision of mercury atoms when current is applied. The different coatings of the surrounding tube convert the radiation into visible light. Other compact fluorescent lamps emit black light or UV radiation into the environment. UV compact fluorescent lamps are used for disinfection and sterilisation, while black light produces fluorescent effects. Compact fluorescent lamps, which emit visible light, are also known as energy-saving lamps and are used in offices, shops, restaurants, hotels and many other commercial sectors for low-cost lighting.Compact fluorescent lamps produce UV radiation due to the collision of mercury atoms when current is applied. We supply companies in industry, trade and commerce with compact fluorescent lamps that are available with integrated ballast or without integrated ballast, depending on the place of use.
As part of the fluorescent lamps, compact fluorescent lamps are characterised by their reduced spatial dimensions: The tube filled with metal vapour is curved or rotated to save space, so that the spatial length of the tube is shortened. For trouble-free operation, compact fluorescent lamps require either a starter and a conventional (CCG) or electronic ballast (EB) that acts as a current limiter. The negative resistance of the fluorescent lamp would cause the current to rise to the point of destroying the lamp after ignition without a ballast.
MULTI-LITE stocks both compact fluorescent lamps with integrated ballast and compact fluorescent lamps without integrated ballast. Four-pole compact fluorescent lamps without integrated ballast can be operated with ECG or CCG without any problems. Compact fluorescent lamps also include Black Light Blue and UV compact fluorescent lamps, which emit partially or exclusively ultraviolet radiation.
If a ballast and starter are already integrated in the base, the compact fluorescent lamps can be screwed directly into corresponding lamp holders: So-called energy-saving lamps have common bases such as screw bases E14 and E27 or bayonet bases B22D. We also carry compact fluorescent lamps with reflector that have a GX53 base or also an Edison thread (E27).
